More intention. Every ride.

Give your next ride
something to build on.

For newer mountain bikers—and riders who have spent time on trails but want a more deliberate way to work on their skills.

Know what to practice.

Take a focused session to a familiar practice area, with a plan you can follow on your own bike.

See what changes.

Record the same drills at the start and finish. Compare your riding on video instead of relying only on how it felt.

Give yourself a reason to finish.

The cash-back challenge rewards completing the practice and submission requirements. Every session has a purpose.

4
years teaching mountain-bike skills in person

From the practice area
to your next ride.

AJ Conover has spent four years teaching an in-person mountain-bike skills course built around four two-hour sessions. He is developing an online challenge that brings that teaching experience into a format you can practice where you ride.

The challenge

Learn it.
Practice it. Film it.

The planned format: sign in to a private course portal, follow four practice sessions across 30 days and record your drills. You bring your bike, a helmet, a phone and a suitable place to practice.

  1. Record your starting point.

Before you begin the practice plan, film your first attempt at each of the four designated drills. Keep the original clips.

  2. Work through all four sessions.

Follow the course instruction and complete the four practice sessions within 30 days of your course access starting.

  3. Record the same drills again.

By day 30, film a final attempt at each drill with a comparable setup and camera angle. You will have four starting clips and four finishing clips.

  4. Submit and claim your cash back.

Send all eight clips, confirm completion, grant the required marketing permission and request your refund by day 37.

A phone. A clear view. Your riding.

Use a friend or a stable camera support outside your riding line. Keep yourself and your bike in frame. You do not need a polished edit or a positive testimonial.

The planned win-your-money-back challenge

Do the work.
Earn your
$97 back.

At launch, the challenge will reward completing the practice and submission requirements. You will not need to hit a particular speed, time or skill score.

  • Complete all four practice sessions within your first 30 days of course access.
  • Record eight original drill clips: four before the practice plan and four after, with final recordings completed by day 30.
  • Submit the clips and your refund request by day 37. Confirm that you completed the sessions.
  • Grant permission for 2% Performance to use your submitted footage in marketing. This is a condition of the challenge refund.
  • Receive the full $97 course fee back in cash to your original payment method after your qualifying submission is reviewed.

No positive review required. We do not have to publish your footage for you to qualify. Store credit is not required. Read the challenge terms.

Before you start

A few good
questions.

Is the course available yet?

Not yet. AJ is developing the online course. Join the free waitlist for launch updates. No payment is collected now, and joining does not reserve or purchase a course place.

How will I access the course?

The planned format is a private online portal where enrolled riders sign in to access their lessons. The portal, launch date and access details will be confirmed before paid enrollment opens.

Who is this course for?

Adults who can already ride a bicycle and want to develop their mountain-bike skills through structured practice. You will need a working mountain bike, a helmet and a suitable practice area. Choose terrain and drills that match your current ability.

Do I need to get faster to earn the refund?

No. The challenge refund depends on completing the sessions, filming and submitting the required clips, providing marketing permission and requesting the refund on time. It does not depend on a particular improvement or result.

Can I take the course without sharing my footage?

Yes. You can pay $97 and take the course without participating in the cash-back challenge. Marketing permission for your submitted footage is required if you choose to earn the challenge refund.

How will my footage be used?

If you participate in the cash-back challenge, you will be asked to give 2% Performance permission to use the submitted clips in its website, social media and advertising. Read the media permission before enrolling in the challenge. You do not need to praise the course, and whether we publish your footage does not affect eligibility.

Is the refund cash or store credit?

The qualifying challenge refund is the full $97 course fee returned to your original payment method. You do not have to accept store credit or buy anything else.

What if I miss a session or a deadline?

Incomplete or late submissions do not qualify for the completion-based challenge refund. Review the requirements before you begin and make room for all four sessions in your first 30 days. If you need help, contact us before the deadline.

Your bike. Your practice. Your progress.

Be first to hear
when it’s ready.

Planned challenge requirements

The course is in development. These are the proposed challenge requirements; final terms, launch timing and portal access will be provided before paid enrollment opens. Joining the waitlist is free and does not start the challenge or grant permission to use any riding footage.

What you pay: $97 USD for the online course. The cash-back challenge is optional. This is a completion-based refund, not a promise of a specific riding result.

Your timeline: Day 1 is the first day your course access begins. Record your four starting drill clips before beginning the practice plan. Complete all four practice sessions and record your four final drill clips by the end of day 30. Submit all eight original clips, confirmation of session completion, your marketing permission and your refund request by the end of day 37.

Your submission: Use the four designated course drills and show the same rider completing each one in the starting and finishing clips. The clips must be clear enough to identify the drill and see the rider and bike. A phone recording is sufficient. Professional editing, a positive review and a particular amount of improvement are not requirements.

Marketing permission: Challenge participants must grant 2% Performance permission to use their submitted footage in website content, social posts and paid advertising. This permission is required for the challenge refund and will be presented separately before participation. Whether footage is selected or published does not affect a qualifying refund. You may take the paid course without granting this permission; the cash-back challenge will not apply.

Refund: After review of a complete qualifying submission, the $97 course fee is returned to the original payment method. No additional purchase or acceptance of store credit is required. Refund processing details and submission instructions will be provided with course access. This challenge does not limit any rights that apply under law.

Practice: Wear a helmet, use a properly maintained bike, choose an appropriate practice area and keep camera equipment and other people outside your riding line. Stay within your current ability.

Questions: Contact 2% Performance. The MTB course challenge has its own terms and is separate from guarantees on 2% topical products.
